LiquidIQ Hardware Components
As a blade-style system, LiquidIQ dramatically reduces power and space consumption and is designed with built-in redundancy and hot swappable components to deliver best-in-class reliability. The system leverages industry-standard x86 architecture to build a powerful, yet open hardware platform.
Hardware components include:
Chassis:
- High-throughput midplane design eliminates the need for cables
- Seamlessly scales to multi-chassis
- AC or DC powered, single or dual power supplies
Compute Blade:
- Up to 20 blades per chassis
- (2) 1 Gb and (4) 10 Gb Ethernet adaptors per blade
- Quad Socket or Dual Socket AMD Opteron; dual or quad-core
- Up to 128 GB of memory per blade
Ethernet Switch Module:
- Up to 6 fabric switch blades per chassis
- 1Gb or 10Gb Ethernet I/O to compute modules; no cabling
- External I/O to storage and data networks
Management Module:
- Single or dual redundant modules
- Runs all LiquidIQ control and management software
Storage:
- Standards-based interfaces with SAN/NAS
- Fully integrated with NetApp storage
- Enables stateless and diskless system
- Rack-mountable with LiquidIQ chassis
Control System:
- Operates independently at the BIOS level, offering highly secure, 24/7 fault tolerant operation regardless of the status in other software modules
- Controls real-time point-of-presence monitoring, power-up, power-down, fault detection and software-driven, automated failover of all hardware components
