Ottawa, Canada – March 3, 2009 – Liquid Computing, provider of software-controlled IT infrastructure for the dynamic data center, today announced the appointment of Vikram Desai as president and CEO. The Liquid Computing board of directors made the appointment in January 2009 to drive the next phase of the company's growth.
"Vik's proven track record and wealth of experience and contacts in the market will accelerate Liquid Computing's solid customer traction," said Dr. Adam Chowaniec, chairman of the board of directors. "Coming off of a successful product and partner focus last year, our objective in 2009 will be to build out our customer base, and Vik is perfectly suited to lead the charge."
Interim CEO Greg McElheran will remain with Liquid Computing, leading the company's business development efforts.
Mr. Desai brings to Liquid Computing more than 20 years of experience successfully driving revenue, streamlining operations and achieving aggressive growth targets for global networking, communications and application software companies. Prior to joining Liquid Computing, he was chairman and CEO of Viziant Corporation, a provider of information discovery tools for enterprises and government, and president and CEO of Kavado, a global provider of enterprise security software (acquired by Xcelera in 2005). Mr. Desai also previously served as COO of Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), where he led the company through several years of unprecedented success resulting in $400 million of market cap growth and 140 percent increase in shareholder equity. Mr. Desai has also served in global executive sales and marketing roles with MCI, Global Crossing and WorldCom.
"Today's siloed data centers are inflexible; they don't prepare organizations for expansion and growth," said Mr. Desai. "Liquid Computing's software-based approach to managing entire data centers offers customers a clear value proposition: Slash the cost of managing your IT infrastructure, significantly improve service delivery and make your infrastructure more agile for years to come."
